It's Friday. You ain't got no job and you ain't got shit to do so CP's gonna get you your MMA radio fix.
If you didn't listen in during the taping of the interactive portion of the show Wednesday, it's incredibly professionally done and we had at least 5000 listeners and a line-up of callers we had to turn away because we ran out of time.
If you did listen, come on guys, it wasn't that bad was it? Give it another listen. We promise we fixed everything in the mix.
One thing you didn't hear on Wednesday was an exclusive interview we did with Jorge Rivera for this episode in which the UFC middleweight basically calls Chad an idiot for saying that a fighter doesn't have to be exciting as long as he wins.

Nate Marquardt Feels Georges St. Pierre Would Destroy Jake Shields
"It's hard to say. I think he definitely would be good at middleweight but I thought he looked bad at 170. Part of it was the weight cut, but part of it is his style as well, and I think a lot of people underestimate Kampmann -- he's a tough, well-rounded fighter. I don't think he's the best but he's good at everything. Shields is kind of the opposite -- not good at some things but really good or the best at other things. I think putting Shields against a well-rounded opponent was bad for him against Kampmann and worse against Georges. I think Georges is going to destroy him."<br><br>

Junior Dos Santos OK With Underdog Slot Against Cain Velasquez
?I hope they [UFC] confirms soon, I?m anxious. I can?t promise much but I?m going to work to knock Velasquez out. Wrestling is the key of the combat. Cain won?t wish to equal abilities, he will try to take me down and throw punches on the ground, then it?s good to get the timing and take advantage of it. Velasquez was never defeated. I will be the underdog for this challenge and I feel good so. It was this way I arrived where I am in UFC. A well-done basical preparation always provides good surprises. This is the biggest trump I have got. I believe in my boxing overall. Even being prepared in other aspects, I would lie if I told you that I don?t think in fighting on the feet. His win over Brock Lesnar was a solid prove that force isn?t all. If we analize the fighters who have arisen in the latest years and the fight?s level, I think we have the ideal balance between power and technique at last. The championship rotation is going to be huge. It?s a new era for the category and I will be on the top.?

GSP On Koscheck: "I'll Win, That's All I Can Say. Knockout Or Sub"
"Yeah, I think he?s going to try to put me down. I also think he?s going to try to knock me out with his big right hand but I know him. I?ve been studying so much tape on him, I?ve got to the point where I know Josh Koscheck probably better than he even knows himself. My coaches have been studying him a lot. Being with him on the Ultimate Fighter for eight weeks was a way for me to know him a little bit better as a person and as a fighter.... I knew how he was before I got there. I think he was like that to get inside my head, and to keep the fans entertained. I don?t think he?s a bad person. In a way, I think that?s his way to motivate himself. He likes to be the bad guy.... [I'll ] win, that?s all I can say. Submission or knockout."<br><br>

Urijah Faber Excited For Move To The UFC
"Some people either think that we are the UFC or think that I fight in the UFC or they ask, ?When you going to go to the big show?? For me, I?ve known for a long time that we?re the top fighters in the world at our weights, but not everyone else understands that. We don?t have to explain it anymore. That?s great. Business-wise, you look at the bonuses, you?re going from $10,000 to $65,000. Pay-per-view averages and everything else is up, and viewership?s up.... The bottom line is, I feel like I resonate with fans. You couple that with the UFC fan base, it?s going to be a great thing. I?m looking forward to having my brightest days in the future. I feel great at this new weight. My body feels incredible, and I?m still motivated to fight. These next couple of years are going to be awesome."<br><br>

Behold the Total Craziness, Unchecked Narcissism of 'The McKee's Untamed'
It takes a special kind of man to look at his own family – two daughters, son and wife/mother/diva – and think, “You know what would be good for us? Reality television.” Obviously, that kind of man is Antonio McKee. We all know McKee never saw a camera he wasn't dying to hog and now that he's finally about to make his UFC debut against Jacob Volkmann in January, we can only assume he thought it was a no-brainer to self-produce the above reality show “pilot” and release it to the Internets. That displays a brand of foresight, ingenuity and business savvy that few fighters have. It also shows a kind of shocking self-importance, even for a dude who could never be accused of modesty or discretion or even being able to tell a good idea from a bad one.
Then you watch nine-plus minutes of “The McKee’s Untamed” and you have admit: Damn, maybe he’s right. The McKee family is certainly just as entertaining as, say, the Osbournes or Kardashians or whichever bewigged aging rockstar VH-1 manages to dig up next. Actually, it doesn’t even take nine minutes. As soon as you hit the family introductions and see the low-budget glam shots of mother/wife/diva Jen (particularly the one of her holding that dagger ... classy ...) you’re hooked. By the time you get a load of Kenny, Antonio’s tatted-up “assistant/man nanny” it's clear that what we have here is a crew of people with the wherewithal to shoot and edit a video of themselves, but absolutely no concept of whether or not they should shoot and edit a video of themselves. Next stop: Comedy gold.

Andre 'Dida' Amade and Brother Mauricio Veio Lucky to Be Alive Following Shooting in Toronto Last Month
A shooting that took place a few weeks ago outside of a popular MMA gym in Toronto came very close to ending the life of K-1 and DREAM standout Andre Amade.
Both Dida and his brother Mauricio Veio were getting into the vehicle of a student to catch a ride home after class on the afternoon of October 20 when a gunman shot two rounds into the back seat of the SUV they were sitting in.
The popular trainer of UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua was grazed on the back of the head by one of the bullets while another student who was sitting beside him in the vehicle was hit in the arm.
Fortunately both men survived.
In spite of the ten staples he required to close the gash, Dida, who has since opened his own gym in Toronto is still planning to compete on Monday's K-1 Max card against Hinata.

Confirmed: Torres-Banuelos Set For Stacked UFC 126 Card On February 5
MMANEWS.COM Staff Writer</B><BR><BR>
On the latest edition of the weekly ESPN program "MMA Live" this past Thursday it was revealed that exciting bantamweights Miguel Torres and Antonio Banuelos will be squaring off in their first octagon appearance as UFC fighters for the promotion's February 5 card.<BR><BR>
The former WEC combatants will match up on the big Super Bowl weekend event as a main pay-per-view card bout which joins an already incredibly stacked lineup headlined by a UFC middleweight title tilt between champion Anderson Silva and top-ranked challenger Vitor Belfort.<BR><BR>
Also scheduled for the UFC 126 show, which will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, are a number of intriguing fights including two mega-light heavyweight attractions in Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin and Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader.<BR><BR>
If that wasn't enough, rumored for important welterweight contests are Jon Fitch vs. Jake Ellenberger and Carlos Condit vs. Chris Lytle in fights with heavy significance in the UFC's 170-pound title picture. An impressive victory for any of those guys could, and likely will, set up a future title shot when the dust settles in the Georges St-Pierre, Josh Koscheck and Jake Shields triad atop the company's current welterweight landscape.<BR><BR><!--more-break-->
UFC 126 emanates from the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Super Bowl weekend, February 5, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be broadcast live via pay-per view.<BR><BR>
What are your thoughts on the stacked UFC 126 card? How about your opinion of the decision for the Torres-Banuelos match to showcase the new UFC bantamweight division on such an important event? Also, which of the UFC 126 bouts are you anticipating most on what is quickly becoming one of the most stacked cards in recent UFC history?<BR><BR>

'UFC 122: Marquardt vs. Okami' ? Extended Video Preview
UFC 122 may not be stacked — it's Germany, those haters should be glad they're getting anything — but it'll be broadcast free on Spike, it's full of potentially exciting matchups, and it'll have serious implications for the UFC's middleweight division. In the main event, Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami will face off for a title shot against the winner of Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort. Marquardt and Okami are two guys who have spent their UFC careers clawing their way almost to the top, but falling just short of the glory. Earlier in his UFC career, Marquardt was TKO'd by Anderson Silva in the Spider's first official title defense at UFC 73; this year, Marquardt suffered a decision loss to Chael Sonnen, snapping a fearsome three-knockout run.
As for Okami, the Japanese standout was outpointed in a previous #1-contender match against Rich Franklin at UFC 72, and was also stymied by Chael Sonnen last October. In other words, UFC 122's headliners have endured the same setbacks — and they both know that the big opportunities don't last forever. It's do or die time. At Jackson's MMA and Grudge Training Center, Marquardt is getting the best preparation that this country has to offer, and he's a powerful, vicious striker. Okami is a deceptively strong fighter with great conditioning, who might be able to smother Marquardt just like Sonnen did.

Lesnar and Nelson Both Want to Fight Each Other, So What Do You Say UFC?
Well, Brock Lesnar and Roy Nelson made Joe Silva's job much easier by all but setting up a bout between each other today. Now all the UFC has to do is squeeze the heavyweights onto a card and we'll have Lesnar's first post-title-loss match-up.
Superbowl weekend seems like a likely date, considering Brock is hunting and Nelson is rehabbing his knee, so we're going to go ahead and pencil it in.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online, Lesnar has asked the UFC if he can fight Nelson next, but the promotion for some reason is stuck on a rubber match with Frank Mir, so it's not guaranteed to happen.
"I could tell you this for pretty much 100 percent certainty Brock Lesnar wants that fight. I mean, he has asked for that fight and I would presume at some point that fight is probably going to happen. I think the idea...Dana -- as of a couple of days ago at least -- had not talked to Lesnar yet, but he was planning on doing it," Alvarez revealed. "I think the first fight they're probably going to offer [Brock] is a third fight with Frank Mir."

Forrest Griffin is Kind of a Dick to Reporters
Don't believe me?
Check out the recent clip above of Forrest telling an interviewer that his hair is terrible and calling him racist for assuming Griffin was referring to Alistair Overeem when he referenced Cro Cop giving up during a fight in which he got kneed in the groin repeatedly. The reporter was right. Overeem did foul Mirko during a DREAM bout, but Forrest assumed he thought our boy Cheick Kongo looked like "The Demolition Man" and he called him on it.
When I interviewed him after he spent four hours signing autographs at the Toronto MMA Expo, I assumed he was simply being ornery because of the long day he had.
Just before we began the interview, which I waited to conduct after a one-hour delay in which Griffin signed a few extra autographs, he tossed aside the Cage Potato t-shirt I gave him to a girl working the booth, told me he had no idea what CP was and then proceeded to "X" out the devil horns symbol on my shirt, informing me that I now had his autograph. Needless to say, I wasn't overly keen on doing the interview after the way things got started.
That seems to be Forrest's MO: insult the reporter at the beginning of the Q&A session and make him feel uncomfortable for the whole interview. The end result is usually an awkward and strange exchange that ends with Griffin smirking and the reporter red-faced and wishing they hadn't wasted their time talking to him.

MMA Top 10 Pound-for-Pound: Cain Velasquez Belongs
When Fedor Emelianenko was the heavyweight king, I always had him on my pound-for-pound list. But when Brock Lesnar took Fedor's place as the sport's top heavyweight, I didn't list Lesnar. My feeling was that Lesnar's greatness was much more about size and strength than skill, and therefore Lesnar wasn't really suited to being in the pound-for-pound Top 10.
Now that Cain Velasquez is the heavyweight champion of the world, I'm back to having a heavyweight in my Top 10. Find out where and why below.
Silva, Gracie Set For Wesley Snipes Film With Mega-Martial Arts Lineup
MMANEWS.COM Staff Writer</B><BR><BR>
According to a new article on the Variety website, famous actor and Joe Rogan's arch-nemesis Wesley Snipes is compiling a list of martial arts actors and legitimate martial artists for his upcoming film project, "Master Daddy."<BR><BR>
The film, which is already drawing comparisons to Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables," only with a comedic plot, lists the following martial arts personalities as appearing in the film in some form or fashion.<BR><BR>
From the Variety article:<BR><BR>
<HR><SMALL>"The film will feature cameos and performances from dozens of martial arts and fighting arts stars including Chuck Norris, Chiba, Frazier, Gracie, Hung, Inosanto, Jaa, Rhee, Kim, Lee Mosely, Bob Wall, Rampage, Anderson Silva and Ron Van Cleff. Musicians Rock Steady, Jabbawakkies and Quest Crew will also perform."</SMALL><BR><HR><BR><BR>
The article describes the film as a "multi-racial action comedy" which Snipes himself compares to "Kung Fu Hustle" combined with "Meet The Parents."<BR><BR><!--more-break-->
While Anderson Silva and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson are clearly identified in the aforementioned Variety excerpt, the identity of the Gracie member is unknown. Simply listing "Gracie" is not exactly the same as listing only "Jaa," as all MMA fans are aware that several dozen legitimate (and some not so legitimate) fighters carry the infamous last name into the ring or cage. One would assume Royce Gracie, although that is merely speculation.<BR><BR>
One can be sure this is not the last we'll be hearing of the Snipes-driven film project. As soon as we know more, you'll know more. For now, you can fill up on some more useless informative such as production backers and other investors in the project by checking out the full article at <A HREF="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118026414.html?categoryid=4076&cs=1" target="_Blank">Variety.com</A>.<BR><BR>

Sengoku 15: Hiroshi Izumi Wins a Robbery; Cobb and Blanco Victorious
That main event featured Englishman James Zikic opening a cut over Hiroshi Izumi's right eye early in the fight and controlling the bout standing up most of the rest of the way, and it appeared that Zikic would win an easy unanimous decision. Instead, when the judges' scorecards were announced, Izumi had won a split decision.
Sengoku has tried hard to push Izumi, who has a great background, but the truth is he's just not that good. Zikic beat him handily, and it's absurd that the judges handed Izumi the victory.

Although former SRC featherweight champ Masanori Kanehara and four-time BJJ World Cup champion Leo Santos were forced off the card, a plethora of talent will still be on show as Maximo Blanco takes on Pancrase legend Kiuma Kunioku, Yasubey Enomoto battles the much improved Taisuke "Gouten" Okuno in the welterweight GP semifinals and the seeded fighters enter the quarterfinals of the bantamweight Asia GP.

MMA Top 10 Pound-for-Pound Women: Zoila Frausto Moves to No. 2
As it turned out, it was Zoila Frausto, who initially wasn't even supposed to be a part of the tournament, who won the whole thing, first knocking out Rosi Sexton to earn her spot in the tournament in June, then beating Jessica Pene by unanimous decision in August, Jessica Aguilar by split decision in September, and Megumi Fujii by split decision in October. It was a very impressive run over the last five months, and it moves her to No. 2 in our latest women's pound-for-pound rankings.
You won't be surprised to learn that No. 1 remains Cris Cyborg, whose powerful striking and killer instinct take women's MMA to another level. Find out the other eight in our Top 10 below.

The History of the WEC: A Timeline
Over the past decade, the WEC has succeeded in spotlighting lighter weight fighters as well as the creating of stars such as Urijah Faber, Jose Aldo and Miguel Torres, whom otherwise might not have received the same amount of recognition.
Let's take a look back at the history of the WEC after the jump.

Video Evidence: Maximo Blanco Zombifies Kiumu Kunioku at Sengoku 15
When you have a name as epic as Maximo Blanco I guess you really have no choice but to be the kind of fighter who throws hands with reckless abandon and racks up highlight reel knockouts like they’re going out of style. If you fight primarily in Japan, it’s also OK to have your nickname be “Maxi” and your fighting exploits described as “Maxi Time!” despite what we in the west might see as the uncomfortably close proximity of that name to a certain brand of feminine hygiene products. Regardless, Blanco’s blockbuster knockout of Kiumu Kunioku from Sengoku 15 over the weekend is definitely a worth a watch.
The fight moves along at a pretty good clip for the first six-and-a-half minutes, until Blanco abruptly decides that it's fuckin’ MAXI TIME. The current lightweight King of Pancrase drops Kunioku with a punch and follows it with a soccer kick that causes the Japanese veteran to snatch desperately for a single leg. Blanco spins free of it (doing sort of an atomic butt drop on Kunioku in the process) and then absolutely crushes him with an uppercut as he tries to stand. You know the rest: Strikes on the ground until the ref stops it while Michael Schiavello yells, “He almost decapitated him! It’s good night freaking Irene!” For once, the play-by-play shouter’s histrionics seem to fit the situation nicely.

Trainer Trevor Wittman Explains Why He's the Happiest Man on Fight Night
That's because the 36-year-old Wittman -- trainer to fighters like Shane Carwin, Rashad Evans, Nate Marquardt, and several others-- has a trademark. While other trainers and coaches are scowling their way to the cage, Wittman is the slightly goofy guy who's grinning like a golden retriever with his head stuck out the car window.
"Brock [Lesnar] told me, 'Man, you've got the most intimidating smile in the game,' Wittman laughs. "You look across the cage at the other guys and you usually see that tough guy look. Me, I'm just happy to be there and excited to see my guy perform."

Rick Hawn's Seoi-Nage Judo Throw
One of the more fun finishes you'll see in MMA this year (video above) involved a ground-and-pound sequence by 2004 judo Olympian Rick Hawn last week at Bellator 33 initiated with a beautiful judo throw.
The one-arm shoulder throw, referred to in judo as a "seoi-nagi," was all instinctual, says the four-time National judo champion.
"It was just second nature," Hawn told MMAFighting.com. "He was in the right position and I took advantage of it. Didn't even think about doing it, was just a reaction. It helps when you have done that throw for 20-plus years as well."
ESPN Host's Remark That UFC is Starting Its Own TV Network Fuels Speculation That Announcement is Imminent
Here's what White told BC's Ben Grossman:
"A lot of people don't realize we are in a half a billion homes around the world. You know all the things we've been through in the United States, but this sport travels well. Cricket will never be big here and the NFL will never be big around the world. But we are all human beings and fighting is in our DNA. We get it and we like it. So we are working on a couple moves now and should be in a billion homes around the world in the next couple months. Sports Business Journal just came out with a survey asking big names in the industry which sport could start its own network and 4 out of 5 said us. They are right. I agree. That will happen within the next couple years. You are starting to see now ESPN is starting to cover us more. I think this is one of those things ESPN will probably kick themselves in 10 years saying, 'We could have fucking had that.'"
It is possible that if it is true that ESPN got wind of the news, considering they have a deal to broadcast UFC events and to produce satellite pre and post-event MMA Live programs, but it's more likely that PTI is just throwing the scenario out there to create dialogue on the possibility.

Dave Camarillo Explains Crying After Velasquez's Title Win
The self-described "cage-crying MMA trainer" spoke to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour Monday and talked about the significance of Velasquez's win for AKA.
"I've been emotional before, it wasn't the first time, but this was definitely the biggest win that AKA has ever had," Camarillo said. "It was our first homegrown champion, but not just a champion, heavyweight champion, which I think more eyes are on than any other division, especially facing Brock Lesnar and everything just came together."

Junior Dos Santos Confident His Hands Can Win Title From Velasquez
"For me it doesn't matter who was gonna be my opponent. What matters is that I get that title for me. Yeah, [Cain Velasquez] is tough, but I'm tough too. I believe so much in me and my hands. I think he's gonna try to put me down but I have a good defense for takedowns and if he can get past my hands, he gonna try to take me down."<br><br>

Dana White Hints That Tito Ortiz Could Be Cut After UFC 121 Loss
Ortiz lost to Matt Hamill in a unanimous decision in one of the night's featured bouts, a defeat that marked his fourth setback in his last five fights (he also has a draw in that time). Many fighters are cut after two or three losses, leading reporters to question White about the former light-heavyweight champion's future.
White's answer was telling.

Pros Pick: Lesnar vs. Velasquez
When Bully Tactics Fail at UFC 121, Brock Lesnar Flounders
Not long after that, the big man was sitting on the canvas, watching Cain Velasquez celebrate as the new champion while a cageside doctor attended to Lesnar's bloody face.
Funny how quickly reality can shift in this business, often right out from under your feet.
For the moments in Saturday night's main event where he was charging forward, Lesnar looked every bit as ferocious as advertised. But when it failed to stop Velasquez from offering up any offense of his own, that's when we were reminded that we really don't know all that much about this guy who, just minutes earlier, was calling himself the best.

UFC 120: Bisping vs. Akiyama RECAP HIGHLIGHTS
Daniel Roberts Says We've Yet to See His Complete Game in UFC
Five Foes For A Surging Carlos Condit
MMANEWS.COM Staff Writer</B><BR><BR>
Carlos Condit has been riding the rollercoaster of success lately. Hell, he?s been on the ?coaster for four and a half years. In that time he?s put together 11 victories against a lone defeat (at the hands of Martin Kampmann). And I?d be willing to bet a god 80% of people who watched that Kampmann fight scored it for Condit, I know I did.<BR><BR>
Regardless, the man?s proven his worth for just about every major promotion in existence. He?s enjoyed great success in Pancrase, tore a hole through the Rumble On The Rock promotion (prior to meeting Jake Shields), won and defended the WEC welterweight title, and now he?s put together three back-to-back wins inside the UFC?s octagon.<BR><BR>
If that?s not putting in work, I don?t know what is.<BR><BR>
So, now that Condit has blown through another highly regarded opponent, who should be chosen to challenge the New Mexico native? I?ve got a handful of ideas?<BR><BR><!--more-break-->
<B>Martin Kampmann:</B><BR><BR>
It?s too bad Kampmann and Jake Shields are tied up, because they?ll both make for great bouts with Condit, and they?re both going to make this list. The first time Condit and Kampmann fought, it was a back and forth war that saw both men put in danger. The glaring difference in the fight was the aggression of Condit, who exploded on multiple occasions, inflicting significant damage, clearly trying to finish the fight. What should have been a Carlos Condit decision victory went the wrong way, and it?s just about time for Condit to get that W back.<BR><BR>
<B>Chris Lytle:</B><BR><BR>
Chris Lytle has a well rounded enough game to give any opponent fits, even elite competition. A clash between Condit and Lytle would be nothing short of explosive, as Lytle?s hands may be a bit sharper, while Condit?s Jiu Jitsu just a tad bit more precise. The two would likely nullify each other, but as opposed to a boring chess match, we?d probably be in for a giant ball of dust and ruckus. Who exists the haze the winner is any man?s guess.<BR><BR><!--more-break-->
<B>Ben Askren:</B><BR><BR>
Ben may not fight for the UFC, but he?d make for a damn interesting bout with Condit just the same. Askren?s technical wrestling abilities will pose all kinds of threats for Condit, but Condit?s explosive guard and polished Jiu Jitsu game could easily lead to a submission victory. Now, should Condit find a way to stuff Ben?s takedown?s, it?s The Natural Born Killer all the way.<BR><BR>
<B>Nick Diaz:</B><BR><BR>
If you want to see two warriors who refuse to quit, can box well, and possess lethal submission games fight each other, you stick these two in a cage. Nick Diaz is a nightmare for any man with average (or below) wrestling. His hands never stop moving, and his ground game is about as slick as it comes at 170 pounds. Condit is a mirror image of Diaz, but has the tendency to explode more often, and mix his strikes up a bit better. Both men have near-unbreakable chins, and both are performing at their peak right now. This is a match made in Heaven.<BR><BR><!--more-break-->
<B>Jake Shields:</B><BR><BR>
These two fought back in 2006 at Rumble on the Rock 9. The bout was closely contested, but Shields did enough to earn a unanimous decision victory. Over the last four plus years, these two have both improved leaps and bounds, and both added well regarded scalps to their collection. It?s most likely that should Shields defeat Martin Kampmann at UFC 121, he?ll be tossed into the cage with Georges St. Pierre (assuming he still has the title). However, should some odd occurrence unfold and Shields lose, or not find himself in line to fight GSP, this is a rematch that must happen. A win for Shields proves the first bout was no fluke and he?s worthy of the ranking he totes. A win for Condit immediately launches him into the top 5 of the division, and lines him up as a serious contender for the title.<BR><BR>
Exactly what will happen by the time Condit fights again is as much a mystery as who Condit?s next opponent will be. One way or the other, I?m pulling for another A-list foe; this kid deserves it.<BR><BR>
