Insanely popular UFC lightweight competitor Clay Guida recently confirmed his next opponent during an interview on Chicago's ESPN 1000 radio show.

Guida will look to make it three wins in a row when he battles Japanese mega-star Takanori Gomi at UFC 125 on January 1 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Guida (27-11) is coming fresh off of octagon-victories over Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 117 in August and Shannon Gugerty at UFC On Versus 1 in March.

On the other side of the coin, Gomi (32-6) looks for his second UFC victory after defeating the durable Tyson Griffin at UFC On Versus 2 in August. Gomi's first battle inside the octagon was a submission loss to multiple-time title contender Kenny Florian, who submitted "The Fireball Kid" with a rear-naked choke at UFC Fight Night 21 back in March.

UFC 125 emanates from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 1, 2011. The card is expected to be headlined by the second title defense of new UFC lightweight king Frankie Edgar, as he battles the last man to defeat him, former Ultimate Fighter veteran Gray Maynard.
