Recent UFC heavyweight title contender Shane Carwin was listed as one of 22 athletes linked to an ongoing steroid bust centering around an internet pharmacy based out of the Mobile, Alabama area.

Carwin was revealed to be a customer in the past of Applied Pharmacy Services (APS), during a court hearing which saw a pharmacist, J. Michael Bennett, wind up with a four-year prison sentence for distribution of anabolic steroids.

The UFC heavyweight contender's manager, Jason Genet, told MMAFighting.com today that Carwin plans on releasing a statement regarding this situation at a later date.

I can't imagine how he'll come out of this without taking a permanent blemish on his reputation, but we'll reserve judgement until we see what the big man has to say about this situation.

As soon as Carwin's statement, and/or more information becomes available on this story, we will be sure to update you.
